Description
The Nabarlek is a small wallaby and the Nabarlek (Kimberley) can be distinguished from the other 2 subspecies by its ashy-grey fore-back and a strongly marked blackish patch behind the shoulder. The Nabarlek (Kimberley) is restricted to rugged sandstone areas with high rainfall. They shelter during the day in caves located in cliffs and rockpiles and emerge at night to feed. Their diet includes a variety of grasses, sedges, ferns and forbs.
Threats
The main threats to the Nabarlek (Kimberley) are predation by feral cats and frequent, extensive and intense fires.
