Description
The Nabarlek is a small wallaby and the Nabarlek (Victoria River District) can be distinguished from the other 2 subspecies by its more brilliant rust-red back. It is also the smallest of the 3 subspecies. The Nabarlek species inhabit rocky areas and shelter during the day in caves located in cliffs and rockpiles and emerge at night to feed. Their diet includes a variety of grasses, sedges, ferns and forbs.
Threats
The main threats to the Nabarlek (Victoria River District) are predation by feral cats and frequent, extensive and intense fires.
