Description
The Hastings River Mouse is native to Australia and one of the rarest members of the Pseudomys genus. The Hastings River Mouse is a brownish-grey rodent with a greyish-white belly. The Hastings River Mouse can be distinguished from other rodents found in sympatry by its two-toned tail, a narrow 1 mm band of black fur surrounding the eye, and a strongly rounded snout.
Threats
Threats impacting the Hastings River Mouse are habitat loss, fragmentation and degradation, severe wildfires and predation by feral cats.
