Priority Species? No
The Australian government's Threatened Species Action Plan 2022-2032 selected over 100 priority species derived from consultation with threatened species experts and the wider community. While all species are important, focusing on a limited number of species can help target effort and resources so that outcomes can be achieved, measured and shared.
Description
The species has been observed hunting in treeless areas and frequents tussock grassland and open woodland and has been documented that the Grey Falcon roost on the bare open ground and adults and chicks are vulnerable to feral cat predation.
Threats
The Grey Falcon is an elusive species endemic to mainland Australia and is the rarest of the six species of falcons in Australia. The species occurs in arid and semi-arid Australia where annual rainfall is less than 500 mm and is found in the arid and semi-arid zones at all times
