Uperoleia mahonyi faces a range of threats including habitat loss, habitat degradation and disease. Historical and ongoing urban and agricultural development, which is widespread in coastal NSW, results in the loss and fragmentation of habitat and also degrades adjoining uncleared areas through changes in water flow regimes and water quality.
